Kinetic watches use the movement of a person wearing it, your body create the power that keeps the watch running.

These watches do not need battery to power its movement and you do not have to wind the watch to keep it going.

A kinetic watch has oscillating weights that are turned by the movements of your wrist when the watch is worn.

These movements create magnetic charges in the watch that turned into electricity needed to power the watch.

Kinetic watches sometime also called a self-winding watch or an automatic watch.

The term "kinetic" comes from the Greek word kinesis, which means "motion."

Kinetic energy is power that your body produces through movement.

The energy that your body produces through normal movement will stay constant until you stop moving.

Advantages

Environmentally friendly, no battery needed.

Remind accurate for a long time.

No winding required.

Newer models can store energy for months.

Power remaining indicator.

Other Features

When a kinetic watch built-in sensors senses that it has been inactived for at least 24 hours, it will automatically put itself to sleep mode.

To awaken it, you simply give it a shake, and it will automatically reset the time and the date.

Some kinetic watches can reset themselves even if they have been suspended for more than a year.

Maintenance

Need to be tune-up every few years.

Occasionally reset the timing as it sometimes might be off by a minute or two.

After a few years, the capacitor that stores its energy eventually wears out and needs to be replaced.
